Dispensary: Emergency Response Plan DIY Guide

Purpose

The Emergency Response Plan outlines how dispensary employees are to react to emergency situations of all types.  It covers bomb threats, robbery, fires and more.

Use Cases

Operators can use this Emergency Response Plan to train employees on what to do in case of emergency.

License applicants can use this plan on its own if the application requests an emergency response plan as an individual section or exhibit of the application.

License applicants can use this plan as an addition to the security plan, if it does not cause the security plan to exceed the page limit set by the application.

Keywords

Search for each of these terms in the regulations. You're looking for pieces of each regulation that pertain to responding to an emergency situation that occurs within the dispensary.  Refer to the General Sheet Editing DIY Guide for guidance on what to do with these key words.

  • Emergency
  • Fire
  • Bomb
  • Robbery
  • Police
  • Any other words you ca think of (if any) that relate to an emergency response plan.

Replace All

Search for each of the bolded terms in the Emergency Response Plan sheet, including the brackets. Do a "replace all" and insert the pertinent information needed to replace the term.  The description underneath each bolded term below tells you what information should replace the bolded term. For instance, you would use the search feature in your document editing software to look for [Company *1] and then using the replace all feature, replace [Company *1] with your company name.

[Alarm Company *1]

Replace with the name of the alarm company that the company uses or will use.

[Police Department *1]

Replace with the name of the local police department.

[Safety Officer *1]

Replace with the role title of the person who will be in charge of security (ex: Security Officer, Security Manager, Security Director, Head of Security).

Suggested Customizations

We suggest that you read through the sheet and make any additional edits or additions that you see fit. Here are some suggestions to get you started.  These areas in the Emergency Response Plan can be found in green.

DESCRIBE LOCATION OF MUSTER POINT

Enter a description of where your employees and anyone else in the building is to meet outside in the case of a fire.

[INSERT PHOTO OF LOCATION MAP WITH MUSTER POINT MARKED]

Insert a photo of the place outside where employees and other individuals in the building are meant to meet in the case of fire.

[INSERT FACILITY LAYOUT HERE - with alarms and fire extinguishers identified]

Insert a photo of your facility layout.  This can be a simple floor plan or a floor plan with exit signs, fire alarms and fire extinguishers marked.

Rename

When you save the document, if using it for an application, make sure to title the document in the specific way that the application requires. If not using for an application, keep the document title as is, or change it to whatever you desire.
